A natural found hag stone (from the pristine beaches of South East Victoria), joins vintage St Joseph souvenir medallion, African glass and bone beads in this rustic assemblage necklace.
I'm fairly obsessive about collecting stones - rather than marveling at the natural beauty of my nearby countryside and beaches, I spend my time looking at the ground searching for natural treasures. Hag stones - also known as witch stones, fairy stones or holey stones - are my favorite.
The lore associated with hag stones is wonderful. Used as talismans to ward off evil, they are often hung by doors (or on boats) or worn to keep mischievous or evil spirits at bay or to ward off nightmares. They are commonly believed to be a key into the Faery Realm and used as folk remedies. But, I think my favorite lore is that by looking through the hole of a hag stone will reveal a different, more magical world.
My work is purposefully rustic and raw. I use salvaged and re-purposed elements as much as possible - giving discarded, unwanted and 'broken' objects a new life is very much part of my aesthetic. I will always gravitate towards the rusty, chipped and faded over the shiny and new.

I find items shipped from Australia to most places in the world arrive within Australia Post's designated shipping time of 6-10 days. It can, occasionally, take longer. I ship with tracking as standard so you can keep an eye on your purchase as it wings its way to you.
Domestic items are shipped via Australia Post and should reach you in 2-5 days.
All my items are securely packaged and wrapped in new and clean recycled packaging.
I try to keep my environmental footprint as light as possible so I use ephemera (vintage sewing pattern tissue, old unwanted books and Atlases) in my wrapping.

My work is organic, purposefully rustic and raw. My pieces take a journey with me as I create them. I use found and salvaged objects wherever possible as these tell a story and reflect my commitment to sustainability. My aesthetic celebrates the signposts - surface stitches, tool marks, texture and natural patina - that tell the story of that pieces journey with me.
When you purchase one of my pieces you are purchasing something that is one-of-a-kind, completely unique and which has taken many hours to create.
Pricing is one of the hardest things for an artist. I try to keep my prices accessible, whilst reflecting the time and materials that have gone into creating.
My process is very organic and personal so, the short answer is no, I don't generally take custom orders. However, please feel free to reach out to me if you have something in mind. I've worked with several of my regular customers to create a piece that uses a material or object that holds a special meaning for them.
