Natural red stone necklace | rustic boho necklace, natural stone in organic textural setting, waxed linen and copper wrapped cord

Shipping to United States: Free
Sorry, this item has sold.

A natural reddish brown stone (possibly an ironstone) set into a textural silver soldered metal cap, strung on a thick and flexible core tube wrapped in waxed linen thread. Hammered and patinated copper wire snakes its way around the necklace, forming a bale for the stone focal. Purposefully rustic and raw.

Length: Around 21 inches (53 1/2 cm) end to end.
The focal is around 3 inches (7 1/2) cm) from top to bottom not including the bale.
Closing at the back with a forged copper hook.

Sealed with a natural wax polish. Clean with a soft damp cloth. An occasional coat of wax polish or oil will preserve the patina on the focal's setting and you can buff with a polishing cloth or fine steel wool to bring up the shine.

My work is purposefully rustic and raw. I use salvaged and repurposed elements as much as possible. Rather than sterling or fine silver I prefer to use base metals (tin, copper, pewter and brass) which I manipulate and play with to add texture and dimension. Far from a compromise, I love the look of these materials and using them in my work allows me to create bold unique pieces; beautifully broken jewelry for the free of spirit and wild at heart.

https://auspost.com.au/service-updates/international-delivery-updates

Please note that shipping estimates are not guaranteed and rural or regional areas may take a bit longer.

Domestic items are shipped via 'Express Post'

All my items are shipped with tracking and please feel free to send me a convo if you have any questions or concerns.

Do you wrap your items?

All my items are securely packaged and wrapped in new and clean recycled packaging.

I try to keep my environmental footprint as light as possible so I use ephemera (vintage sewing pattern tissue, old unwanted books and Atlases) in my wrapping.

Can I return my purchase for a refund?

Absolutely. What's the point of jewelry you aren't going to wear! Shopping online is convenient, but sometimes you need to see a thing up-close and and in-person to know how you really feel about it. If you'd like to return your item, just let me know within 14 days of delivery (please note: purchasers are responsible for return postage costs but I will issue a refund upon proof of postage, so you don't have to wait).

What's your aesthetic and your pricing philsophy?

My work is purposefully raw. I use natural stones, crystals and salvaged materials, as these hold more meaning than shiny new things. My aesthetic celebrates the signposts; stitches, tool marks, natural texture and patina - these tell the story of a pieces' journey with me. I love that one of my customers described my work as 'beautifully broken' because there is great beauty in what some consider to be imperfection.

Pricing is one of the hardest things for an artist. I try to keep my prices accessible, whilst reflecting the time and materials that have gone into creating. When you purchase one of my pieces you are getting something that is unique and which has taken many hours to create.

Custom and personalized orders

My process is very organic and personal so, the short answer is no, I don't generally take custom orders. However, please feel free to reach out to me if you have something in mind. I've worked with several of my regular customers to create a piece that uses a material or object that holds a special meaning for them.

Can I reserve an item? Do you offer lay-away?

I am happy to reserve items for up to seven days for returning customers (ie. people who have purchased from me before), but please note that by reserving an item you are committing to purchase that item.

I can also set up layaway (payment via instalments) for new customers. Please feel free to contact me if you would like to discuss this option.
